Chloramphenicol 1% w/w Eye Ointment

Chloramphenicol Eye Ointment is an antibiotic used to treat acute bacterial conjunctivitis. It helps reduce redness, irritation, swelling, and sticky discharge caused by infection in the eye.

Chloramphenicol works by stopping bacteria from producing the proteins they need to grow and multiply, clearing the infection.

How to use: Adults and children over 2 years: apply a thin strip of ointment inside the lower eyelid of the affected eye every 3 hours while awake, up to 4 times daily, for 5 days. Wash hands before and after use.

Precautions:

• Do not use if allergic to chloramphenicol.

• Not recommended for children under 2 years without medical advice.

• Do not wear contact lenses during treatment.

• Seek medical advice if you have eye pain, disturbed vision, light sensitivity, or if symptoms persist after 5 days.
