Finasteride 1mg Tablets

Finasteride 1mg tablets are used to treat male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) in adult men. They help slow hair thinning and, in some cases, promote regrowth of hair on the scalp, particularly at the crown and mid-scalp area.

Finasteride works by reducing levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that causes hair follicles to shrink in genetically susceptible men. By lowering DHT levels, finasteride helps prevent further hair loss and supports the maintenance of existing hair.

How to take:

• Adults: take one 1mg tablet once daily, with or without food.

• Swallow the tablet whole with water.

• Finasteride should be taken consistently each day for best results.

• It may take 3–6 months of daily use before improvement is seen.

• Continued use is required to maintain results; stopping treatment may lead to reversal of benefits within several months.

• Not suitable for women or children.

Precautions:

• Do not take if you are allergic to finasteride or any of the tablet ingredients.

• Finasteride must not be used by women, especially during pregnancy, as it may harm an unborn male baby.

• Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not handle crushed or broken tablets.

• Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before use if you have liver disease.

• A small number of men may experience sexual side effects such as reduced libido, erectile dysfunction, or reduced semen volume.

• Mood changes, including low mood or depression, have been reported rarely.

• Breast changes (such as lumps, pain, or nipple discharge) should be reported to a doctor immediately.
