Orlistat 120mg capsules (84 pack)

Orlistat capsules are used to aid weight loss in adults who are overweight or obese. They work best when combined with a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet and regular physical activity.

The active ingredient, orlistat 120mg, works in the digestive system by blocking the absorption of around one-third of the fat from the food you eat. This undigested fat then passes out of the body naturally. By reducing fat absorption, orlistat helps lower calorie intake and supports gradual, steady weight loss.

How to take:

•The usual dose is one 120mg capsule with each main meal containing fat (up to 3 times daily).

•Swallow the capsule with water, either during the meal or up to one hour afterwards.

•Do not take more than 3 capsules in 24 hours.

•If you skip a meal or eat a meal with no fat, skip that dose.

•Follow a balanced, calorie-controlled diet with no more than 30% of calories from fat to minimise side effects.

Precautions:

•Do not take if you are allergic to orlistat or any of the ingredients.

•Not suitable if you have chronic malabsorption syndrome, cholestasis, or are underweight (BMI below 18.5).

•Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking medicines such as ciclosporin, levothyroxine, warfarin, or other anticoagulants.

•Common side effects include oily or fatty stools, urgency to open the bowels, and abdominal discomfort, especially if meals are high in fat.

•Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
