Permethrin 5% w/w Cream

Permethrin 5% cream is an antiparasitic treatment for scabies and crab lice (pubic lice).

Permethrin works by paralysing and killing mites and lice, providing relief from itching and preventing spread of infestation.

How to use: Apply a thin layer to the whole body from the neck down, covering all areas including between fingers and toes, under nails, and soles of feet. Leave on for 8–12 hours before washing off. A repeat application may be needed after 7 days.

Precautions:

• Do not use if allergic to permethrin or other pyrethroids.

• Not recommended for infants under 2 months.

• Consult a doctor before use in pregnancy or breastfeeding.

• Itching may persist after mites are killed — this does not mean the treatment has failed.
